Misha Most, a Russian street artist, has recently finished a colorful mural called Evolution-2 that might very well be the largest wall painting in the world. Spanning the entire facade of the Stan-5000 industrial building in Vyska, Russia, the mural covers 10,800 square meters with colorful paintings of human-like figures, futuro-scientific imagery, and geometrical shapes.
Evolution-2 was painted as part of ArtOvrag, an urban art festival. It is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the United Metallurgical Company and the 260th anniversary of the metallurgical plant in Vyska, which is why many of the figures in the mural are doing things like welding and smelting.
There's some controversy as to whether Evolution-2 holds the crown as largest wall mural. French artists Ella & Pitr painted a 21,000 square meter mural in Norway, but that image is painted on the roof rather than the walls of its building, leaving the record in flux.
