Located in Bucharest, Romania, the Evolution Bar by Sebastian Barlica offers a new and modern concept to contemporary clubs. The Evolution Bar can be consider as an "underground" club due to the fact that it is located in the basement of a building. The biggest challenge for the designer of this club is the fact that they were only given a small area to work with. However, with a little bit of creativity, the designer managed to take a small area that is originally suppose to be a storage area and turn it into a night club. Though the club is contemporary, it incorporates classical byzantine-inspired paintings and fireplaces to add more allure to the small space.
The Evolution Bar serves as excellent example for future club designers because it uses the HI-MACS materials to bring out the floating bar that is located in the club. The center of attention, the floating bar, is made out of a 21-meter-long structure that is made into the certain shape through thermoforming of the HI-MACS. The HI-MACS material allows the designer to mold the table into an unusual shape.
