Multifunctional Elegant Workspaces

TAO Repurposes an Old Warehouse in Beijing with a Modern Flair

Commissioned by Lens Magazine, Trace Architecture Office (TAO, for short) creates an ultra-moody and elegant workspace that can also house exhibitions. For the project, the design firm overhauls a sizable warehouse in Beijing. The architects experiment with lighting, as they stir up a contemporary interior that has a distinctive industrial aesthetic.

TAO builds on the modern notion of an elegant workspace that embraces an open concept arrangement and hybrid use. As a result, not only does the architectural firm produce a balanced juxtaposition between old and new, it also creates an active and engaging layout within the warehouse. With design-forward thinking and mixed-material use, TAO is able to grant its client with rooms that boast privacy, as well as spaces that are ideal for collaborative projects, brainstorming and socialization.
