Eddie Van Halen’s Fender ‘EVH Wolfgang’ guitar is made for individuals who want to cement their standing as rockstars. Rather than slapping his endorsement on a regular Fender, however, Van Halen decided to reinvent the guitar from the inside out for the EVH Wolfgang.
His efforts proved fruitful. As Eddie Van Halen tells CNN, "During the last show, I actually tried to break a Wolfgang, and it wouldn’t break. I picked it up and I couldn’t break the damn thing. I threw it up in the air, and later put it out in the rain. I picked it up half an hour later, and it was still in tune. It pissed me off."
The prospect of an indestructible guitar is an attractive one, even if you’re not officially a rockstar like Eddie Van Halen. And with a price tag of $3,000, the EVH Wolfgang is poised to be the next heirloom musical instrument for badass parents and their superstar progeny.
