COVID-19 has forced individuals to rely on single-use masks and gloves, as well as wasteful testing kits. Britton claimed that the testing kits in the UK alone "have created enough plastic waste to fill at least 19 Olympic swimming pools." It is estimated that EcoClear has a 20% weight reduction in contents, as well as a whopping 70% reduction in CO2 and energy use during production. As we continue to rely on tests to keep each other safe, an eco-conscious alternative is largely necessary.
