Beijing based designer Li Jianye clearly remembered the nutritional lessons learned at school. For balanced meals, the proportion of meat to vegetables to carbohydrates for energy form a nutritional pyramid. This lunch box design reminds the user of the relative proportions of food by the labeled partitions in the tray.
The meat portion occupies the least space at the tip of the pyramid, followed by vegetables and then the stodgy parts of diet like pasta, potatoes and rice. This is still a concept design, one that merits moving to production especially when so many people in affluent countries overeat and don’t eat the right things.
