Taiwan’s EasyCard, a payment system commonly used on public transportation, has previously been reimagined in new shapes and sizes to emulate objects like Taiwan Beer bottles and even Sailor Moon’s wand. Pinkoi, the company that creates these functional contactless smart cards, is now offering useful ‘Master Ball’ keychains in the wake of the successful release of Pokéball-themed contactless smartcards.
The ‘Master Ball’ has a green light in the middle that glows when the IC card is engaged. It is covered with hot pink spherical detailing that is emphasized by a purple lid construction. Each ball includes a keyring-attachable telescoping rope, so consumers always know where their IC card is.
The Pinkoi website is already accepting pre-orders for the ‘Master Ball’ EasyCard, and sales will start on November 3. While supplies are available, 15,000 two-piece sets will be sold daily for $840 NT ($26 USD).
