The conceptual 'DUponix' aquaponics system is a domestic take on the food production system that will provide users to keep it within their living space. The system was created in partnership between Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE IPL) and the Design and Arts Research Lab (LIDA IPL), and is capable of maintaining a self-sufficient functionality. This will allow the unit to be used by amateur or advanced users who would like to keep a bit of greenery in their living space along with aquatic fauna for an miniature ecosystem that supports itself.
The conceptual 'DUponix' aquaponics system is the design work of Marco Balsinha and maintains a relatively compact construction that can be positioned almost anywhere in the home.
