Paris Fashion Week falls after New York, London, and Milan Fashion Weeks, which might be because the fashion world is saving the best for last, and if that is the case the Dries Van Noten Spring 2012 show should have been saved for the end of the week (in my humble opinion).
The designer's collection is always a highlight of Paris Fashion Week and this season is no exception. Dries Van Noten told journalists that the collection was inspired by "photographs of ignited city landscapes and the bare, blue waters of paradise."
Marseille-based British photographer James Reeve collaborated with Van Noten to produce the gorgeous silkscreen prints, and surprisingly, ruffles were a huge defining factor in the Dries Van Noten Spring 2012 collection.
The Dries Van Noten show will surely be a difficult one to follow, as it was one of the designer's best works in recent years.
