Girly Bicycle Mods

Jazz Up Your Bike with Simeli Dress Guards

After seeing these one-of- a-kind dress guards for your bike by Dutch company Simeli, I've never wanted to own a bike more.

The dress guard dates back from the 1800s and was originally designed to protect a women's skirt from getting caught in the spokes of the back wheel. Taking a spin on traditional roots (no pun intended), Simeli "chic-ed" it up a notch, crocheting cotton yarn with glass beads to come up with stunningly handcrafted dress guards that have caused quite a buzz in the modern bicycle world. The guard is fitted in the fender and come with clips provided by the company that, luckily for us, "can withstand all weather," according to Simeli.

There are several designs from which to choose, with every desired color combo to match.
