Based on the Dreamachine, a device that produces visual stimuli, an immersive exhibit of the same name is coming to the UK to share an experience that can't be replicated by mass entertainment. Interestingly, the exhibit is meant to be experienced with eyes closed, since the Dreamachine takes the form of a device that spins, flickers and projects kaleidoscopic images past shut eyes.
The dream-like installation is accompanied by a soundtrack by Grammy- and Mercury-nominated composer Jon Hopkins, as well as concepts that draw from architecture, technology, philosophy and neuroscience. Since everyone's experience will be different, it's worth experiencing with one's own mind's eye. The Dreamachine is coming to the UK's London, Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh over the course of May through to October 2022.
