Based out of New York, Coolhaus seems to have successfully incorporated two popular food crazes -- the food truck and gourmet ice cream -- with its new Doritos-flavored ice cream. Its flavors range from plain and ordinary like Key Lime Pie, to weird and wacky like Chicken and Waffles. Many of their flavors however seem to fuse odd, but established and well known flavor combinations.
That is until Coolhaus recently introduced its flavor called 'Netflix.'
A Coolhaus employee who had Doritos as a snack decided to add it to their basic ice cream mix, and was amazed by the results. Coolhaus co-founder Natasha Case altered the recipe of the original mix, adding a touch of white cheddar. Adding crushed up Doritos was the next step, and 'Netflix' was born.
Coolhaus employees were surprised that the Doritos managed to keep their shape and salty flavor, even folded in its creamy base. Coolhaus trucks can be found in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.
