It is not often that the words "donation poster" and "high score" go together, but JCDecaux Creative Solutions brought these two unlikely themes together to create an effective way to engage the public and collect donations for Surf Life Saving Australia.
The interactive donation poster took the form of a 30-second arcade-style game, with silhouettes of figures in the water that could be "saved from drowning" as they lit up on the touchscreen. After interacting with the poster through touch, players were given the chance to potentially save real lives by making a donation to Surf Life Saving Australia, a not-for-profit community organization that is committed to reducing coastal drownings.
To encourage awareness and collect contactless donations from credit cards, the board displayed a panel showing the high scores of other players.
