Dolby is a name that's familiar to consumers thanks to its premium home theater, broadcast and cinema surround sound technology—and now, Dolby is introducing its first-ever consumer product, the Dolby Dimension headphones.
The headphones are touted as the first "wireless headphones perfected for home entertainment" and encourage consumers to "binge smarter."
While the headphones do feature active noise-canceling technology, they also offer a technology called LifeMix, which makes it possible to control how much sound can be heard from one's immediate surroundings. As enjoyable as it is to be immersed in a movie or TV show, one's attention may be needed from a roommate, a child or a spouse—and LifeMix can easily be activated by double-tapping a surface on the headphone, rather than removing the entire headpiece.
