New York City-based photographer and educator LaNola Stone snapped heart-warming photos of animals from dog shelters in an attempt to bring attention to adoption issues.
The series titled 'Least Likely To Be Adopted' is a set of portraits taken of captivating dogs. The pups were from Stone's neighborhood pound and the entire lot were chosen on the basis that they had been there the longest and were not adopted yet.
The sadness in the photos is palpable. Stone shows off the beautiful critters in a natural state. Their expressions, specifically in their eyes, are enough to bring any animal lover to tears.
LaNola put these depressing photos on display to encourage people to visit dog shelters, to sympathize with these adorable animals and to hopefully adopt.
