The Palm-sized DJI Spark Can Be Controlled Via Hand Movements

The DJI Spark is a new miniature drone designed to be launched from the palm of your hand and controlled via gestures. The Spark weighs in at just over a half-pound yet comes packed with features. The most unique of these is the ability to control it via gesture, but the DJI Spark can also be controlled by a smartphone app. The app is where pilots can access many of the drone's new features.

For starters, the Spark can fly to any location (within range) that you select on your smartphone. It can also follow a pre-set flight path, capturing a 10-second video along the way. The DJI Spark has a flight time of 16 minutes and will capture video in 720 pixels at up to 1.2 miles away. Still photos are shot in 12 megapixels. Pricing starts at $500.
