This iPhone-enabled dogcam and remote treat dispenser was created by Stephen Myers, a Ph. D student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida. It's a cool enough DIY invention on its own, but what makes it badass is that this whole project took Myers 90 minutes to complete from start to finish.
Myers originally created the iPhone dogcam to check on his dog while he attended classes. It's a noble endeavor; a dog's separation anxiety can manifest itself in some pretty destructive ways.
That Myers added a remote treat dispenser, however, is a clever addition--especially since animal behaviorists frequently remind pet owners that dogs must be 'caught in the act' and either praised or reprimanded for their actions in real time in order for them to connect their behavior to its corresponding reinforcement.
