Following in the footsteps of other brands during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dunkin' has begun bolstering its takeout options with the debut of DIY Donut Kits.
According to a press release from Dunkin', the idea for the new DIY Donut Kits came from an employee named Norma Valkenaar, who works at a Dunkin' location in Concord, California. Valkenaar wanted to bring home individual ingredients for her nephews to put together at home and they loved the activity. Now Dunkin' is giving more consumers the opportunity to DIY with kits that include four fresh donuts, and various frosting and sprinkle options. As Dunkin’ franchisee Matt Cobo explains, "The simple joy of getting to create your own donut can make kids light up, and if we can be a part of creating that moment, that makes us happy."
