The Dining Womb is a structure designed by John Lum, who took the design down to the famous Burning Man festival for it to be used, then set on fire.
Before setting the item ablaze, Lum was sure to get some use out of it. A clown performed inside, and a dining party was had by about twenty guests. The burning part of the project was done as a symbolic gesture for Lum. He states that when first starting out each project was very important from a financial standpoint, but now he is at the point where he has the freedom to build something like this without it being driven by a client.
