Founded at the end of last year, Design by Pana is a sustainable business that creates furniture from materials that would otherwise be thrown away. The vintage-style designs use things like reclaimed wood, rags, glass jars, earrings and discarded car and aeroplane parts. Anything and everything is up for use here in Design by Pana's outlook and practice.
All the same, sustainable design isn't the only issue at hand for this social business. People also matter to the core of the mission. "Employing 12 people, mostly pensioners, orphans, marginalized people and immigrants," they say. "Prices are low so anyone can buy our products, since we know that Economical Situation in Albania is not so good or very low in front of other countries in Balkan Peninsula or Europe!"
