Yoga Mat Repurposing

Debrand Helps Brands Rid Their Materials in a Secure, Eco-Friendly Way

Debrand is a Vancouver-based social enterprise that helps businesses recycle their branded materials -- from letterhead and banners to event uniforms -- and disposes of them in an environmentally-friendly and secure way.

"We continually work with industry leaders to develop the best long-term end-of-life solutions for all of the materials we process," Debrand explains on their website. "Finally, we share our learnings with our clients so that they can make informed purchasing decisions that will ultimately result in less waste."

One of their most recent clients was lululemon. Debrand worked with them to develop an eco-friendly yoga mat repurposing solution that transformed damaged mats into a colourful piece of art for their new Houston, Texas store.

As they describe on their Facebook page, Debrand means "the physical removal of an identifying mark from any product, material, asset or good."

Some of Debrand's other partners and clients include Nature's Path, the Vancouver Canucks, Nike, London Drugs and Visa.
