Vegans Shun Sex With Animal Eaters

A recent article in the Globe & Mail pointed out an interesting trend in the Vegan community which was backed up by a New Zealand study. A lot of the animal-lovers have opted not to have sex with others who consume animal products. For some, it's moral reasoning, for others, it's a much deeper feeling of disgust.

Those who consider steak libido busters "see their bodies as made up of dead animals." Yikes! Looks like they take the saying "you are what you eat" a little too seriously.

"Some women felt squeamish about the idea of having intimate physical contact with a person who ate meat; sexual intimacy with meat-eaters was also opposed on more ideological grounds, viewing their bodies as composed of/from dead animals," the study said.

One woman interviewed for the Globe story can't handle the thought of gettin' down with someone who consumed animal products, whether it be eating bacon, chicken, eggs or drinking milk. She sees their bodies as "literally made up from the bodies of others who hae died for their sustenance," she was quoted. "Even though I might find someone really attractive, I wouldn't want to get close to them in a physical sense if their body was derived from meat. For me, this constitutes my very personal form of ethical sexuality."

A lot of celebrities are saying no to meat... wonder if they'll stop sleeping with other meat eaters too. Some well-known animal rights activists include Pamela Anderson, Toby Maguire, Carrie Underwood, Alex Baldwin, MOby, Vanessa Williams and Pink.
