The 'Rattus Norvegicus Rex' chandelier celebrates the common brown rat in a glorious circle of hanging rodents. Made of porcelain, the rats dangle from their tails enjoying bunches of red glass berries. The top of the fixture consists of a ring of porcelain leaves and acorns which resemble red and white fishing bobbers.
From the look of the photos taken in the dark from beneath the light, it is most definately not a fixture you want to hang over your bed! It would, however, be fun over a dining room table. Theoretically.
Created by the Ohio-based Nonfiction Design Collective, the light fixture was originally an all-white prototype named "The Fancy Rat Chandelier." The final version measures 7" x 14" and is available for $1250.
