Customizable Record Label from Beck

Customizable Record Label From Beck

iTunes eat your heart out. For years now we've been told that the online music store (aka limewire or anyother P2P provider) offered us something we simply couldn't get in a music store. Convenience, price and choice. Well, now music front runner Beck is has come up with somthing that gives us something we can't get on iTunes, customisation.

The new Beck CD features a plain cover, and a pad of specialty designed stickers to allow us to make our music look however we want, whilst adhering to the artists style.

"It's really pretty amazing. The artwork is laid out in stickers, it's modular, the cover is blank and you get a sheet of stickers and you make your own cover." Said Beck on MTV.

Finally, some new consumer innovation, not just a variotion of the now old itunes concept. Mr Jobs, I just don't care how much content you have I just want my CD rack to look cool. And that is what Beck is tapping into. When I was 18 my friends were amazed at my walls and book shelves filled with cd covers from all over and the classic fan designed covers of rare bootlegs. Beck is going to help me relive those days...but better.

A fully customisable cover......now that will get me spending money in HMV and Virgin again (or amazon.com).
