For this article on Dolly Parton's new musical, I am going to "Tumble Out of Bed and Stumble to the Kitchen; Pour Myself a Cup of Ambition, And Yawn, and Stretch, and Try to Come to Life."
Ok, I'm not really going to, but Dolly fans out there will know this is the start of the awesome song, Nine to Five :-) This brings me onto the news is that Dolly Parton has penned songs for a Broadway musical based on the 1980s film by the same name which starred Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
Including Parton's original score, the musical will tell the story of three colleagues who plot to turn the tables on their sexist, lying boss. Want to go and see it? You will have to wait for it to open on Broadway on 23 April 2009.
Above is a video to whet your appetite.
