The Copenhagen Soil Treatment Center will be located north of Copenhagen. This new soil center is designed to clean vast amounts of soil that have been dug up from construction projects and metro building sites. The soil is cleaned and decontaminated at the site. Once this is done it is used for sculpting the landscape for a new urban quarter that is called Nordhavn. This new urban quarter features red weathering steel facades that are protected by a layer of rust.
The roof of the Copenhagen soil treatment center is filled with plants, bushes and trees. The soil treatment center was created by Christensen and Co. The M-shaped roof occupies an office, a laboratory, a dressing room, two large workshops, garages and storage spaces. The open interiors are naturally lit.
