Felix Starck and Selima Taibi are on a journey from Alaska to South America in their converted school bus home in what they're calling 'Expedition Happiness.'
The project began with the purchase of a 39-foot bus online and began collecting salvaged materials to transform the interior of the full-sized school bus into a livable space. The finished space features all of the amenities of a modern home, plus a pleasing white-and-wood aesthetic to match.
With the rising costs of rent in major cities across the world, many creative individuals are embracing alternative living spaces with tiny homes, houseboats and DIY van conversions. As well as making it possible for young adults to enjoy increased cost savings and freedom, these kinds of living arrangements also make "home ownership" feasible where it is otherwise impossible.
