The design team at Specht Architects recently put together a container abode in partnership with Louise Harpman that is integrated into the cliffside of a limestone ridge in Lake Austin. Due to the home's elevated placement, the space offers unparalleled views of the water and landscape, while merging seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
The house features a geometric one storey rectangular shape that is similar in appearance to a shipping container, and is made with natural materials such as wood and concrete. The home is suspended over the cliffside and features a rooftop garden to provide green space amongst the rocky terrain.
As consumers seek to be more environmentally conscious with their home purchases, abodes that are built into the landscape rather than in place of it are much more appealing to the ecological consumer.
