Complex Meshes Shows Illuminated Designs Warping in Real Time

Miguel Chevalier is an internationally recognized digital artist from France who is known to create multi-layered and intricate works -- a theme that's carried in his 'Complex Meshes' project for the Art Brussels 2016 event.

He does this by using eight panels to cover the ceiling of the venue, which show illuminated geometric designs constantly transforming for a psychedelic and hypnotic effect. The ever-changing display symbolically represents the "infinity of Nature and Creation."

Miguel Chevalier achieves this by using a large virtual light that "twists, moves and resizes to create diverse and complex shapes." With this, Complex Meshes highlights the building's architecture itself and generates a dream-like atmosphere, encouraging the event's patrons to sit back and get lost in the designs.
