Shining a spotlight on the world of competitive dog grooming, photographer Paul Nathan shows us how colorful and primped these pooches can get in the ‘creative’ category.
The NYC-based photographer captures the imaginative designs in his competitive dog grooming portrait series ‘Groomed’ which shows the doggy designs which range from vibrant and creative to humorous and ridiculously eccentric.
Going to different high-profile competitions to find his models, Nathan’s portrait snaps show off both the pimped out pooches and the talent of the artists that used their dogs as canvases.
"According to groomers I have spoken to, not every dog can be part of a creative grooming competition or have these extreme color creations done to them. As with child stars, some are just born with patience and the will to please that help them deal with the long process involved in creating a creative grooming piece," says Nathan.
