A new concept by designer Kyuho Song aims to bring the time-honored tradition of signing casts into the future with the 'Comfort Cast.' Song's arm cast works to replace the marker-based "get well soon" message entirely with its modern-day equivalent. Each cast displays text from your friends and family in the form of social media messages. An e-ink display shows comforting messages from well-wishers while simultaneously displaying messages from your doctor.
The Comfort Cast is composed of three parts in order to keep the tech functioning. Within the device is a fixed plastic cast in the shape of your arm to keep it immobile. The inner cast is regulated by the main body which intelligently controls the air pressure. Finally, the exterior of the Comfort Cast has a display cover where the communications technology is housed.
