The 'Genesis v.2' colony concept is a rendering of what could be done to make the colonization of Mars more sustainable in the face of concerns surrounding sustainability as well as scalability. The colony is designed to work with the landscape of the planet rather than against it and would consist of a donut-shaped construction that would sit on the edge of craters. This would help to protect the colony from radiation, while also putting a focus on an adjustable design that can also be relocated or even expanded thanks to its circular construction that would allow for additional units on the top levels.
The 'Genesis v.2' colony concept is futuristic on the inside, but appears unfinished on the outside as a reminder to continue working towards expanding our knowledge and boundaries.
The colony is the design work of Burak Celik, Naz Kaplan and Zeynep Ege Odabasi.
