A group of established designers, including Patricia Urquiola, Michele de Lucchi, and Marcel Wanders, have come together in a collaborative art project to raise money for cancer research.
Together, the ten designers have created a series of metal candle holders that are currently on display at Milan Design Week 2021. The project was spearheaded by Daniele Mingardo, the founder of the metal design brand Mingardo. Each artist was invited to erect their own interpretation of a modern-day candleholder.
Certain designs clearly illustrate a candle holder, while others take on more abstract forms. Each piece features quality-crafted metal. The candle holders will be auctioned off at Christie's Italia in mid-September as a part of the A Flame for Research charity project.
