As mobile transportation apps move into the food industry, brands like Lyft are partnering up with trusted food chains to offer consumers food on-the-go, including coffee deliveries. In this upswing is Lyft's collaboration with Starbucks and Flavorpill to offer employees the opportunity to have a six bottled ice coffees delivered straight to their office. The best part? The delivery and charge is entirely free.
Lyft's coffee delivery was offered for one day only to five major US cities. At noon users of the Lyft car app were able to see a secret mode entitled "SBUX" that showed on the city map Starbucks logos travelling around in place of the traditional car icons. Once requested, Lyft would then drop a six back of its traditional bottled coffee and milk ice coffee to requested locations.
As mobile transportation becomes more streamlined, lifestyle services begin to merge allowing busy consumers to have their favorite foods, drinks and necessities instantly customized and delivered while on-the-go.
