Swiss footwear expert On reworks its Cloudrunner sneaker model from an angle that focuses on comfort first and foremost. It is designed with a wide range of technical updates that amplify components to support wearers as they run. Some of the notable updates include the mesh upper to maximize breathability, support zones, and a slightly wider shape to assist with stability.
It also fuses the brand's signature CloudTec and Speedboard technicalities. It is also important to note that On has used over 90% recycled polyester for the shoe and over 30% of the sneaker is made from recycled materials as a whole. Edouard Coyon from On states, "To make the Cloudrunner more supportive we have increased the width of the bottom unit in the forefoot and the heel area, so you land and push off on a wider platform. We sculpted the inside of the bottom unit, so your foot sits inside a cradle, instead of sitting on top of it. The upper nicely wraps around your foot so it is fully supported. We tuned the geometry of the clouds – smaller clouds on the medial side than on lateral – to support the foot’s movement from heel to toe."
