Bosh Can Make EVs More Reliable with Cloud-Connected Battery Systems

Bosh will release cloud-connected battery software which will help to manage the service needs of EV batteries. The system will allow users to monitor the battery much closer, which would reduce accumulated damage by 20%. The system works by implementing live data from the battery, mostly by measuring charging speeds. Other useful data include measurements on the number of charge cycles, ambient temperature, and acceleration. With these data points, Bosh's Cloud-connected battery is able to optimize charge times.

The information that Bosh is able to provide not only helps reduce already accumulated damage, but it can also predict upcoming issues. This would also help users determine if a battery needs replacement.

The company has already sold the technology to the ride-hailing company in China, called DiDi.
