Converse originally created the Chuck 70 Utility silhouette alongside luxury fashion designer Kim Jones. The silhouette makes another appearance in a String and Egret colorway design. Kim Jones describes the shoe, stating that "the design approach for the shoe was very straightforward — taking a very classic shoe and then almost encasing it in something to protect it."
The shoes upper is made in a steel blue canvas material for some breathability before it is cased in a translucent cage detail. This details the lateral side of the model following through to the eyestay sections and through the All Star ankle patch. It all sits atop a wavy rubber overlay and classic white midsole foundation with a bumper banner on the back.
