Trader Joe's is yet again expanding its lineup of specialty cheeses with the launch of its new Chive Cheddar Cheese.
Just as the name suggests, the new Chive Cheddar Cheese pairs herbaceous chives with the pleasant taste of cheddar. To make the cheese, Trader Joe's supplier starts by hand-rubbing chives on the wheels of an Irish-style Cheddar Cheese. The cheese is then aged for "a minimum of four months to create the palate-pleasing partnership of creamy, sharp Cheddar and sweet, earthy Chives that truly made our panelists believe in love at first bite."
While this new Chive Cheddar Cheese is great on its own, it's also a versatile cooking ingredient. Trader Joe's suggests combining it with elbow macaroni or some fresh bread for a truly tasty experience.
