Child Studio Taps Mid-Sentury Modern Sensibilities & Art Deco Motifs

London-based design practice Child Studio embarked on an interesting project for a hotelier and restauranteur. The house is doused in luxury and sophistication, combining two design popular design sensibilities—the mid-century modern aesthetic and the art-deco movement. Throughout the home, Child Studio also curated "custom-made pieces in a nod to fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent's home." The practice does not cut its inspiration there, it also makes an effort to reference the way "Saint Laurent's residence displayed his collection of artworks" and even the layout of the fashion designer's home in some cases.

The layout and aesthetic of the home reflect the entrepreneurial spirit of the client. Since they are a hotelier and restauranteur, Child Studio's design for the home makes way for entertaining and hosting parties.
