Chelsea Handler's Netflix Move Means More Stand-up Specials

It's no surprise that Chelsea Handler's Netflix move is the talk of the Internet. The cheeky comedian's beloved show 'Chelsea Lately' is ending its seven-year-run on the E! network, as she's just signed a deal with Netflix for a new talk show (format yet to be determined), and several comedic stand-up specials.

Back in March, Handler divulged that she was unhappy at E!, and expressed interest in working with the streaming service after her contract expires. The funny lady explains the career move by saying, "If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested."

The deal begins with a special for Handler's current tour, titled 'Uganda Be Kidding Me,' that will be available by October. Four 'docu-comedy' specials will follow in 2015, "featuring her efforts to gain a better understanding of a variety of subjects ranging from NASCAR to politics and from Silicon Valley to the NBA draft."
