For Sam van Doorn, the pinball machine was his method to creating these amazing pieces of chaotic art.
The project is titled STYN and uses modified parts from a pinball machine to create unique drawings. Van Doorn, a graduate student from the Netherlands, covers the pinball with ink and then uses a temporary poster laid over the game’s surface as the canvas. From there, Van Doorn creates this chaotic art by simply playing pinball. However, not anybody can just create these wonderful pieces because the better you are at controlling the pinball, the more complex your drawing will turn out.
The poster itself has a grid over it, which allows manipulation techniques. With this added guide, Van Doorn was able to do several different designs on one single poster.
