The clothes weren’t the only works of art at the Chanel Spring 2014 runway show at this years Paris Fashion Week. Lagerfeld had the Grand Palais transformed to look like a contemporary art museum, with grand-scale, Chanel-inspired pieces of art lining the runway. For instance, there was a wrought-iron interpretation of the iconic little black dress and giant intertwining C’s for Chanel’s logo.
As for the fashion, the models walked the runway in colorful tweed, drop-waist dresses and skirts, high socks and heels, oversized pearl necklaces and a whole range of fabulous mod designs. The models sported retro looking bobs with front bangs and super colorful, psychedelic eye makeup in another nod to the 60s mod fashion. Lagerfield’s Spring 2014 line was a fresh, modern and extremely memorable.
