A continuation of Chanel's Spring/Summer 2011 exploration of temporary inks, Giorgio Armani's Spring Summer/2011 collection picks up the baton. Sending male models down the catwalk with oversized chain tattoos, the overall aesthetic was more industrial and masculine than that of Chanel.
The fake tattoos fused white highlights with stark graphic details, a very Italian take on Gothic sensibilities. The aesthetic also extended to the eyes -- when not covered with solid black lenses, they were rimmed with Kohl -- perhaps a reference to the designer's ongoing collaboration with one Lady Gaga?
