Architectural practice OMA brings sizable whimsical ceiling sculptures and yellow-painted bathroom stalls that are compatible with the notions of contemporary art to the opening of the Fondazione Prada Torre. Visitors are stunned upon entering the premises of the creative establishment as they are met by colorful and spatially inverted "spinning mushrooms" that give the illusion of defying gravity. The ceiling sculpture is conceived by Carsten Höller.
The opening of the OMA-designed Torre debuted just in time for the 2018 edition of Milan Design Week. The exhibit is in celebration of the completion of the Fondazione Prada arts center and it boasts recognizable artworks from Jeff Koons and Walter de Maria.
