Managing an extensive wine rack may seem like a constant chore, but thanks to the Caveasy One, keeping stock of a wine rack could be incredibly simple. The Caveasy One is a smart connected wine rack and a mobile app that work in tandem to track and monitor the user's wine collection. Created by a group of French entrepreneurs, the system received most of its funding through Indiegogo and has been recognized for its innovation at VinoCamp Paris 2015.
To keep track of the user's wine reserves, the Caveasy One uses a combination of photos and sensors. The user simply takes a picture using their smart phone of the wine, which then logs the bottle in the digital cellar. Once the picture is taken it can be placed on the rack and sensors on the wine rack will identify the placement of the bottle and log it into the phone. The app will remove bottles from the user's digital cellar once the bottle has been removed from the rack. In its current state, the app allows for 1,280 bottles to be tracked. The Caveasy One rack also contains built-in sensors to measure humidity and temperature of the wine.
