Biometric Casino Cards

France's Pleinair Casino is Implementing Cards with Fingerprint Sensors

The Pleinair Casino in Marseilles, France, will soon be implementing a smart biometric casino card for both employees and VIP guests.

As it stands, the casino will first test the MeReal Biometrics smart card on employees, making it possible for them to use the built-in fingerprint scanner to access back-of-house areas. Additionally, these cards will also be used for keeping tabs on an employee's time and attendance.

For VIP guests who carry a Fairplayer loyalty card, the MeReal Biometrics smart card will also allow access to special areas of the casino, and payments to be made. In terms of the technology behind the MeReal Biometrics card, RFID, NFC and EMV chip technology are combined with a biometric fingerprint sensor, battery power and even a one-time acoustic password.
