The Cargo Pocket ISR is a Miniature Surveillance Drone

The US Army has developed a special miniature surveillance drone as part of its Cargo Pocket Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance program, or Cargo Pocket ISR for short. This bite-sized military drone is being developed by researchers at the Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center in Massachussetts.

The Cargo Pocket ISR is being targeted towards combat troops operating in tricky terrain and challenging ground environments. It will be equipped with a mobile sensor that can provide soldiers with live video surveillance of dangerous areas within their operational environment.

Larger drones have been used to provide such surveillance capabilities for many years, but none of those deliver surveillance directly to ground soldiers, who need the ability to snoop just around the corner or across the street during combat missions.
