Specialized Bicycle Components, a California-based company that literally and figuratively specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative bicycles, has launched a carbon fiber gravel bike that offers similar performance to its predecessors but with a striking new feature in the form of a renewed frame.
The 'Sirrus Carbon X 6.0' makes predominant use of carbon fiber in its frame. However, rather than the use of materials, the most stunning feature of this particular frame is the use of what's known as a 'compliance junction' design. This design features the seat linking with the seat tube, from where there's a connection to the down tube. This allows for maximum flexibility and performance.
Elsewhere, this carbon fiber gravel bike features high-end elements such as a SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain and Level TLM hydraulic disc brakes. The bike is priced at $3,000, a reasonable price considering this is a gravel bike that weighs in at only 9.2 kg.
