Oscar Diaz Designs a Block Set Inspired by the Nakagin Capsule Tower

Industrial designer Oscar Diaz has created a new wooden block set toy that is inspired by the iconic Nakagin Capsule Tower from Tokyo. It was created by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa and is a main landmark in modern architecture.

The building was disassembled in 2022 and now, the spirit is kept alive with Diaz's set as an artful and playful approach. 20 stackable wooden blocks comprise the set as it all rests on top of a wooden base shaped like a hexagon to encourage those to create their own towers and organic silhouettes in a boundless form of creativity. These are made from smooth beech wood and then further dyed with water-based pigments to form its visual.
