Cancer-Detecting Bras

Higia Technologies' 'EVA' Bra Spots Early Stages of Breast Cancer

Julián Ríos Cantú developed 'EVA,' a potentially life-saving smart, cancer-detecting bra that was inspired by the loss of his own mother to breast cancer five years ago.

The app-connected EVA bra boasts biosensors that are able to track significant changes in the body, such as temperature, texture and even color. As Cantú explains: "When there is a tumor in the breast, there is more blood, more heat, so there are changes in temperature and in texture." While the bra has the potential to alert its wearer about the early stages of cancer, ultimately a the advice of a doctor should be sought out, especially in case of dramatic changes.

The most remarkable part about Cantú, the CEO and co-founder of Higia Technologies is that he is just 18 years old. For his remarkable creation, he recently received the first place in the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
